Educational Qualification

Candidates must fulfill the following qualification criteria:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Library Science with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized University or Institute

  • Preference will be given to candidates holding an LL.B degree from a recognized University or Institute

Pay Scale

  • Salary: ₹9,300 – ₹34,800 per month (as per applicable pay rules)

Age Limit

  • Maximum Age: 35 years

  • Age relaxation, if any, will be applicable as per government norms.

Selection Process

The selection will be conducted through a Common Competitive Examination, which includes:

Written Examination (150 Marks | 2 Hours)

Objective-type multiple choice questions from the following subjects:

  • Library & Information Science – 60 Marks

  • General Knowledge – 30 Marks

  • English Language – 20 Marks

  • Hindi Language – 20 Marks

  • Punjabi Language – 20 Marks

✔ Each question carries one mark
✔ No negative marking

Candidates securing at least 50% marks in the written exam will qualify for the Computer Proficiency Test, followed by Viva-Voce.

Application Fee

  • General & SC/ST/BC (Outside Punjab, Haryana & UT Chandigarh): ₹1000

  • SC/ST/BC (Punjab, Haryana & UT Chandigarh): ₹800

  • Ex-Servicemen & Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (40% or more): ₹800
